James Patterson (born March 22, 1947) is the American author of thriller novels, romance, and non-fiction works. He openly works with co-writers. His first novel titled "The Thomas Berryman Number" before being published in 1976 was rejected 26 times.

Currently James Patterson's filmography accounts for thirty-four adaptations. Nine of his novels have been turned into movies. The novel "1st to Die" has got fourteen screen versions.
